Bonny Bairns, illustrations by Ida Waugh; verses by Amy Ella Blanchard.
Bonny Bairns, illustrations by Ida Waugh; verses by Amy Ella Blanchard. These delightful lithographs were published in 1888 in New York. Ida Waugh was born in Philadelphia in the first half of the 19th century. She was trained at home by her father, Samuel B. Waugh and subsequently studied at the Pennsylvania Academy and the Academie Julian in Paris. Her children's books were done in collaboration with her life-long companion Amy Blanchard. While her paintings were often allegorical or religious, her children's books exhibit charming infants and children playing happily. Any of these prints would be a lovely addition to a child's room. Some prints have some toning. Size(in): 8 x 10
